Webinar Replay Links Made Easy
When you follow my “webinar replay links made easy” process, your fans and followers will easily be able to join the webinar and access the replay afterward, without you having to send multiple emails with updated links, yada yada yada. They’ll get it all with ONE link!
This process makes everything super easy for you and your viewers! (And you’ll look like a tech pro!)
Set up your webinar links, step by step
Open Zoom (or whichever tool you will use to host your webinar) and copy the webinar link that people will use to join live
Open your website
If you use WordPress, you’ll need the Pretty Links plugin
Click Pretty Links on the left sidebar and click Add New to create a new Pretty Link
Choose 307 or 302 to create a temporary link
Target URL: paste your link from Step 1
Pretty Link: This will be the URL you will share with your audience so make it unique and clear. Name it something like “watch-automation-webinar”
In Squarespace, go to Settings > Advanced > URL Mappings
In the box, paste your link from Step 1 and press the spacebar
Add the -> arrow and press the spacebar
Type the new link that you want it to be, something like https://terramilo.com/watch-automation-webinar/ (hint: the / at the end is very important. If your link doesn’t work when you test it, make sure you have the /) and then press the spacebar
Type 307 for a temporary link, or 301 for a permanent link
Save
Now you have a link that looks something like terramilo.com/watch-automation-webinar
Paste that link in your reminder emails – anywhere people will click it to join the live call
Add a note in those emails that this will also be where they’ll access the replay
After your webinar, upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo
Go back to your pretty link and replace the live call link with your video replay link
Test it!
When you click on terramilo.com/watch-automation-webinar, it should go to the webinar replay page so they can watch the replay
(bonus points for embedding that video on your own website with a call to action button)
That was pretty techy, but you essentially copy and paste the links and keep them updated.
Now, anyone who clicked your pretty link will be able to join the live call or watch the replay, using the same link! They won’t have to email you to ask for the replay and if they accidentally click the live webinar link after the webinar has passed, they’ll be able to watch the replay and get your great information.
