Don't Ask a Tea Drinker to Teach You How to Make Coffee!
I don’t like coffee. There. I said it.I know. It’s cool to talk about chugging coffee while we work hard on our business. But I drink tea. Mostly herbal. (*gasp*)Why am I telling you this? Because I know that you should never ask a tea drinker how to make your coffee.Essentially, the steps are the same, right? Put some grounds (or tea leaves) into a filter. Pour boiling water over it. Wait a few minutes. Enjoy a hot cuppa. But it’s not the same. I would mess up your coffee every. Single. Time. I just would. It’s different. Tea is delicate, yes, but it’s much more casual and flexible than coffee. With coffee, you need to measure the perfect amount, grind it just so, and remove the grounds before it gets bitter. I have no idea how to do any of that.Listen. I can do a lot of things. I’m a pretty smart girl, but don’t ask me to make your coffee. The same goes for technology. Lots of people USE technology. They’ve figured out how to set up a scheduling system for their business, so they think they can teach you how to set up a scheduling system for your business. But if they’re not a tech teacher, it’s not going to come out right. They might skip a step that they think is obvious, and that one little step ends up making your coffee bitter and your clients lost in scheduling lalaland.I may not know how to make coffee, but I know how to teach technology. It is a skill that I have trained in for more than 10 years. I have the patience and the knowledge to make it work. But most of all, I know where you might go off track and get stuck, so I don’t let that happen.Next time you need tech advice, don’t turn to your money mentor or your copywriter or your spiritual guru to teach you how to do something in your business. Turn to your tech teacher. I’ll pour some tea and we will set up your systems to work flawlessly.
