My 18-Ingredient Smoothie & How it Relates to Business

I just finished drinking a smoothie for lunch, and as I was loading all of my ingredients into my trusty Vitamix, I started thinking about how my 18-ingredient smoothie relates to business. My smoothie has so many ingredients:smoothie raspberries

  • coconut milk
  • almond milk
  • hemp seeds
  • greens powder
  • kale or spinach
  • celery
  • banana
  • matcha tea powder
  • blueberries
  • cacao nibs
  • Brazilnut
  • are you bored yet?
  • edamame
  • chia seeds
  • frozen fruit
  • beets
  • a peeled orange
  • coconut flakes
  • even I'm bored by now

That's a LOT of stuff, and because I'm trained as a health coach, I could tell you the health benefit of each one.But WOW that would be overwhelming, right? It's the same with our business. We want to give people ALL the goodness, all the time, but it's overwhelming. People like to get a little taste of what you're dishing out before they take the whole scoop. If I was telling someone to try making smoothies, I would give them a 4-ingredient smoothie.

  • almond milk
  • spinach
  • banana
  • peanut butter

That's it! Simple, tasty, healthy, and it gives them a little peek at the smoothie life. Then they can add hemp seeds or goji berries when they're ready.Take Computer Girl, for example... last week, I created a gorgeous landing page for a client, using the plainest of plain MailChimp signup code. I searched online to learn how to dress it up a little bit, and when I was done, it looked amazing! But if I tried to tell you how easy it is to edit the HTML and CSS code to make a branded sign up form, you'd probably pass out. lol And I wouldn't blame you! It's too much.Instead of all that, I like to teach people how to use the tools they have to take a action. Not the 18 steps I took, just the 4 steps that it takes using the tools you have. That way, you take a step, feel good, and take another step. Pretty soon, you're confident and empowered!
