10 Years in Business!
I started my business in 2013 and now I’m so excited to share everything I’ve learned after 10 years in business!
When I started, I had no idea I would be in business for this long and I definitely didn’t know how much running a business would teach me about myself and the world.
I’ve learned so much from you, my community of fellow entrepreneurs, and I’m so grateful.
Lessons from 10 years in business
1. Take shortcuts. Use templates, dfy materials, repurpose old content. Canva and other designers can help you so much.
2. Marketing is everything. If you’re not marketing and telling the the world that your business exists, then it’s just an idea and not a business. You’ve got to do marketing! Make it fun so you can keep doing it.
3. Use an ergonomic desk. Your neck and back will thank you.
4. Batch your content. Do it for efficiency, professionalism, strategy, and peace of mind.
5. Solve a problem. Your ICA (idea customer avatar) isn’t about bio-demo data. It’s about the problem you solve and who you solve it for.
6. Niche sooner. I know this one is scary because you feel like you’ll leave some people out. That’s ok! You get to work with whomever you want. Niching sooner will make your message more clear and attract the right people to your business.
7. Grow your email list. My email list has sustained my business for 10 years. Set it up early, nurture your list with amazing content, and your business will thrive.
8. Identify what you’re not good at, what you don’t like doing, and hire help for it.
9. Don’t do everything alone. Hire help sooner and get a business buddy or a mastermind community. It’ll save your peace of mind.
10. Contracts! Sign a contract with clients, partners, anyone you have a financial or business relationship with.

The end!
You may have seen on social media… I got a job! I was the Product Marketing Manager for Bloom ESG, a company focused on sustainability consulting and software. It was a dream. I got to do the work I love in an industry I’m passionate about. The team inspired me every day.
I’m only accepting select clients in this business. In addition, I’m looking for work as a Fractional CMO or Fractional Marketing manager. In that role, I can help kickstart a marketing strategy without breaking your budget.
It’s been a fun ride and I’m so grateful to you and I hope I’ve brought some goodness into your life and business over the years. I wish you the very best as you build your business.
