I had a little anxiety attack last week and I have to tell you why. It was because so many people were looking at their phones!
I was in a really special space where people were sharing their life stories and seeking guidance from a trusted source. They were pouring their hearts out, or trying to share encouraging messages with each other and people were CHECKING FACEBOOK!
I can’t explain exactly why, but this freaked me out so much that I had to excuse myself and go to this green room because I couldn’t handle it anymore… The stress of our workaholism. The way we encourage each other to work ourselves to death. The way everyone had that stupid blue light on their face when someone was sharing her life story.
It was too much!
Now, I’ll admit that I’m a workaholic. I’m either working on my business or thinking about my business most of the time. Maybe all those blue-light faces were shining the light on my vice. Or maybe I was just sensitive to the insensitivity of it. I don’t know.
But I’m here to ask you, put down your phone. Enjoy special moments with each other. When someone is speaking, your Facebook Feed can wait. Your Group can wait. Everything can wait. Give your attention to the real live people who are in your space. If you can’t do it for them, do it for me.
