ConvertKit to ConvertPlug Connection

Two of my favorite tools are ConvertKit for email newsletters, and the ConvertPlug plugin for creating opt-in boxes so people can sign up for your newsletter. (Somehow, they are not related to each other, even though their names are similar. ha!)

Getting these two tools to work together takes a few steps, so I made a video to show you how!

I’ve also created a simple, step-by-step guide to follow along with the video.

Download the Guide (no opt-in required)

I’m on a mission to empower entrepreneurs around technology. If that sounds good to you — if you want to learn more about how to use your online tools to grow your business — sign up for my newsletter below. (That’s a ConvertPlug form! It connects to a ConvertKit sequence that delivers all the goodies straight to your inbox.)

Why do I love these tools so much?

I recommend ConvertKit because

  • your emails are more likely to end up in the Inbox instead of the Promotions folder
  • you have one big list, and you tag people to send them different content
  • subscribers move elegantly from one sequence to another (move people from an opt-in sequence to your standard welcome funnel)
  • if someone is doing an automated program (like a cleanse or detox), you can easily exclude them from your other mailings so they don’t get overwhelmed
  • the design is soooo simple, which is optimal for inboxes these days, and you don’t have to be a graphic designer to send a newsletter
  • your emails are more likely to end up in the Inbox instead of the Promotions folder

I recommend the ConvertPlug plugin because

  • it creates all kinds of pop-ups… exit intent, after scrolling, time-delay
  • it creates social slide-in bars like the one on the left side of this page (hint: share this post!)
  • it creates embeddable opt-in forms like the one you see below
  • it can create “welcome mat” style opt-in forms that are muuuuuch more expensive with other tools
  • it creates signups in the top bar
  • it’s a one-time fee
