On the first day, we’ll talk about writing… how to come up with ideas, headlines, and how to tell the story in a way that draws the readers in and makes them think.

On day two, I’ll show you the technical skills you need to post your blog online. You’ll learn about formatting, adding photos, quotes, links, and more. We’ll also look at some different styles to help you hone your unique voice and let your creativity shine.

As always, the whole workshop will be live, and it will be recorded. When we’re done, I’ll send you a link to the classes so you can watch any time. I’ll also provide notes and other tips to reinforce what you’ve learned and keep you on track.

One-on-one 20 minute brainstorming session with ME. We’ll brainstorm ideas, topics, headlines, images, strategy, whatever you need. This is about getting you unstuck and moving forward.
Cheat sheet to promote your blog through social media. How to strategically use different social media channels to promote your blog posts to your fans and followers.

I have a master’s degree in English and I used to teach writing at the local university. (Betcha didn’t know that about Your Computer Girl!) I love writing, coming up with new ideas, and inspiring others to express themselves. (Because I taught writing, I also have some gentle ways to encourage you to write better.)

I don’t have a good camera to take photos. You can use your smartphone to take web-quality photos that are perfect for your blog! People want to see the real you, and I’ll share some great strategies to turn OK pictures into beautiful images.
I’m not a good writer. The important thing is to get your message out there. I have a master’s degree in English and I used to teach writing at the local university, so I’ll show you how to start writing effectively. Trust me, the more you write, the better you’ll get.
I’m using the IIN website. That’s a great idea! You can blog on the IIN website too, so you can show your clients the real you. I’ll have a class about blogging on the IIN website, and if you’re planning to move to Weebly or WordPress, you’ll get that class too.
I’m not creative. I hear ya! I don’t feel like I’m creative either (I’m a techie!), but the strategies I’m going to share will inspire and motivate you to overcome your fears around writing so you can get started. We’ll find ways to help you express yourself authentically to attract your ideal clients.
I don’t have a target market. Blogging is the perfect way to hone your target market! You’ll start writing about things that interest you, and soon you’ll become an expert in your field. People will see your passion and expertise, and your target market will find you! It couldn’t be easier.
I don’t have any followers. Writing a blog consistently is a great way to get more followers. People will start sharing your content with their friends, and you’ll begin to grow your list. It also helps with your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) so that your website will be easier for people to find online.
